Look who woke up

Can I tell you how much I LOVE the newborn stage? All our little-O wants to do is eat, sleep, and snuggle. It's like a three-month hug.I don't even mind the 4-hours of sleep a night too much, I get lots of time to think. Mostly I think about sleep, but a few actual insights sneak in there.
And I tell you what, Caleb likes it too. Because every time I feed this little one, the oxytocin starts a flowin'. And if Caleb is anywhere in proximity he becomes the target of my sheer lovey-dovey (hormone induced) bliss. I've been known to tilt my head with looks of pure adoration on my face and say/sigh such things as: "Oh, aren't we just perfect for each other?!" and, "I just can't believe how much I love you." It's good for his ego.

I'd noticed how blissful you are in your posts and comments.
Vicky and I sent you packages at the same time yesterday. I only sent stuff for the baby, but Vick sent stuff for Jane and Malan, too. She's the good aunt.
Olivia actually looks like Talmage in that picture. Nice to see her eyes again.

Oh what a lovely O! What big dark awake eyes. I love the "it's like a 3 month hug" line. Really, the newborn stage is sort of surreal. It's all the sleep deprivation mixed with hormones mixed with the most precious soul in your arms. that equals surreal. Good job loving it. It can be hard but loving it is probably the best option.

Ooooh, squishy squishy! Wanna squeez' er. Sweet baby. You can tell how little she is by her eyes. So cute cute cute! I think I'm loving newborns more each time. Maybe since I know how fast they grow up now.

Wow, look at that hair! Do all your babies have that much hair? So cute and the photo is great. Yeah for great cameras (and great photographers).

People get happy hormones when you nurse? That's so great!
