Buried Alive

30 inches and the worst storm Pittsburgh has seen in 17 years. But the storm is over (and let's be honest, it's nothing we Utah folk can't handle.) Now we're digging out. (And having fun with my $2 thrift store Polaroid. Which clearly isn't working, so...better luck next time I guess.)

Just after this picture was taken, Jane attempted a back drop in order to make a snow angel. She sunk in about 2 feet and was instantly buried. It was a little traumatizing for her, especially because I was laughing so hard.
Stores are closed, school is canceled, power lines and trees are down. Our friends the Kimbers and their 4 little ones are sleeping over here until the power comes back on at their house (it could be days.) We're thinking: hot chocolate, movies, games, hang out. It's nice to be forced to slow down every once in a while.

The weather is crazy- we NEED snow, arizona is going to float away and they are trucking snow into Vancouver..go figure. Glad you are safe and warm.

Yes, out East here, I have noticed they freak out over the littlest of snow storms. And this has probably been the most snow we have gotten the whole 3 1/2 years we have been here combined. Gotta love these Easterners. :)

Sounds like a lot of fun, but I have to tell you: snow and yellow have bad associations for me.

Usually I'm only happy in the warm, but I make an exception for snow. This was the first good snowstorm that I haven't been preggers for in awhile and let me tell you, sled I did. AND HOW! Sounds like you guys are having fun too. LOVE the polaroid. Where did you even find one?

Oh my! Good memories, good times! I remember getting stuck in the snow after jumping off my roof. They had to pull me out! I can relate to Jane, my mom laughed at me too. :)

Woa. That is a lot of snow, maybe I'm not a Utahn anymore, but I don't think I'd handle it all that well. OK, I'd love the family time, but all that snow might make me just a little crazy. Glad you're enjoying it!
