Mother's Day was swell, as always. Caleb made me my favorite fresh spring rolls and hot and sour soup for dinner. Particularly nice since he is NOT an Asian food fan. We spent the day with good friends and then tucked the gallies right into bed when we got home.
I thought it especially considerate that the riotous vomiting did not begin until 12:05 a.m., after I had enjoyed my day to the very last minute. Jane was first, followed hourly by Olivia and Malan, and then back to Jane again until 6 a.m.
It was really starting to get old when, for the second time, Jane had been bathed, re-jammied, and tucked back into a freshly sheeted bed. Then as I was about to plod back to my room, Jane asked in her sleepy, worn-out, little bird voice, "I was wondering if you just really want to snuggle me, Mama?"
You betcha, little lady. You betcha.
Watching her slip back off into a peaceful sleep in my arms, as pale sunlight began to peek through the curtains, I thought: worth it. And it is.
Happy Mother's Day to all you midnight laundry doing, brow wiping, puke cleaning women out there.
And to those who made me a mother: I love you every day.

Oh my, so glad you got your your full day in almost to the minute! Sounds like an eventful night, bet you are all recovering today. The girls are so beautiful in that grassy, freshly spring spot with the lovely tree.
Poor littles. And poor mama. Glad Tib knows how to treat his woman right.
The pictures looks like they walked right out of a Jane Austen novel :)
You post like you're not exhausted! Here's hoping that you all rest today and recover. We were throwing up last week and that is pretty much no fun! Interesting indeed that the fun started at 12:05!
You are so refreshing, positive and honest. Here's to you!
My word verification is, no lie, colicup--colic with vomiting.
I'm glad you had a good day first. And I hope it's a really fast recovery time so you will be fresh for the cruise!
Beautiful pictures!
Sweet kids!

What a blessing to have had a great day before all that. And what a blessing our kids are, even when things don't go so well. Best of luck recovering. btw~ those pictures are beyond stunning!
Ah Kate, I love this post! So, very true. Moms have so many gross jobs, really we do. But I am glad that they were at least able to hold off on the vomiting until Mother's Day was officially over, how considerate of them. Glad you had a lovely day. And those pics are simply beautiful!
Sorry about the rough night! Glad it came to a sweet, cuddly end. Happy being a mother day.
