Yeah, not a fan. She cried every day for 7 days of lessons and I felt like a super evil mom
handing her over to be dunked and doused between screams and tears in some sort of socially acceptable form of water boarding.
Her teacher gave her tough love, but by the last day of lessons Olivia
was swimming with her head under water and diving for rings on the bottom of the pool.
Malan swims!
Jane did a superduper job too, but I think we all know this particular jump is not going to end well.
I tell ya, I was impressed. It was pretty great to watch my kids being pushed to meet challenges
they weren't comfortable with, and then to watch them dig deep and do it.
(bonus: some of our fave new little ward friends are there between Olivia and Malan.)
In another lesson this week, the sister missionaries were asking my girls what one thing they'd take to heaven with them if they could.
Jane immediately piped up with, "My pink blanket!"
Malan took her time and maturely replied, "I'd take the love of my family."
Jane looked thoughtful for a moment, then nodded and said mostly to herself, "I'd take the love of my pink blanket."
My goal this week: try to beat pink blanket out for a spot on Jane's heaven list.
