Branson!

Branson was awesome. Besides the super neat Silver Dollar City where we spent Malan's birthday, I also loved just how beautiful Branson is. It has a different kind of landscape than anywhere else I've been. There are super steep rocky cliffs just kind of jutting out, then rolling green hills and cascading rivers. Joey took the kids and me on a walk around the grounds of a huge lodge and resort near the place where we were staying. Katie was in the hotel with a napping Freddy. It was really stunning! (Caleb couldn't miss work for this trip, which was a major bummer. He would have loved it.)

The Hales spent an extra day in Silver Dollar City, and my girls and I went to check out a few other Branson fun spots. We spent about half the day exploring The Butterfly Palace, this neat place that housed a few cool reptiles like this guy...

...and then the whole top floor was a garden with just hundreds of beautiful butterflies. It was pretty awesome to get an up close look and to even have them land on us.

After the butterfly palace we walked around an enormous old fashioned five and dime store. But those knick knacks were certainly not five and ten cents! Ha! We didn't buy anything but the girls had fun checking it all out.

Then down to the waterfront to do some modern window shopping and to find a few things for Malan's birthday. Chocolate pretzels, yum! This day felt like a little preview to when my girls are all teenagers and just want me to take them shopping all day. We really had the best time just walking around together looking at everything. I like these babes.
Here are a few more pictures I stole from Katie's blog: Mini golf out our front door! And the giant barn swing. I did not even attempt to ride that ride in my condition. I know I would have lost my lunch. But the kids loved it!

Amanda and Josh riding the river with Malan!

The incredible pool!
 And the birthday girl.
Thank you so much, Hales, for hosting us on this awesome trip!!! We loved hanging out with you and had such a wonderful time.
