Pretty sure I get more excited about my girls getting out of school for Christmas break than they do. After all the busy school parties, ward parties, school plays, etc. it is just so nice to be home with the ladies, read the Christmas books we checked out from the library weeks ago but haven't had time to read, make cocoa, and get down to the good stuff.
The girls helped make pixie presents for each other, one of my favorite traditions. Emme helped me braid t-shirt bracelets for Jane, Malan made a duct tape flower bow for Olivia and a tiny stocking for Caleb, Olivia helped sew an infinity scarf for Malan, and Jane made match box monsters for Emme.
Olivia spent Christmas Eve-eve sleeping on the couch so we could keep an ear infection-induced fever under tabs during the night. Seems like we just can never quite manage to keep everyone healthy this time of year, but at least the sickie gets the perk of a few nights' sleep on the couch, which they love. And I love to see the glow of the Christmas tree on my children's sleeping faces.
After several cloudy days, Christmas morning dawned with brilliant blue skies and sunshine and it added so much to the warmth and joy of the day. After a nice healthy breakfast of cinnamon rolls and orange julius, we dug into our stockings and presents and spent the rest of the day playing with the new stuff. As always, we felt super spoiled by grandparents and family pixies, and by each other.
(My favorite presents were the "coupons" the girls made on Christmas Eve to give Caleb and me, and each other. I won't have to make my own bed, scratch my own back, or give myself a lotion spa for quite some time.)
Jane thought it was the funniest thing ever to draw mustaches on herself and everyone else with the invisible spy pens from uncle Joey and then shine the black light on her face to reveal them. It kind of was the funniest thing ever.)

These babies fell asleep in less than a minute after our sweet, happy, busy day.
