Can I tell you how much I love Halloween? I'm not into the guts and ghouls and blood and corny masks, but I relish the excitement of it and love the thrill of coming up with a new persona for the night. I loved running with friends from house to house for, what could be better, free candy! I loved dressing up for school in elementary and junior high. It brought out the goof in everyone and was the funnest day of the year at school. I felt brave, like I could talk to whomever I wanted and act super cool and ask the boy I had a crush on at the moment to dance at the Halloween stomp. I love carving pumpkins with spooky music playing and the smell of hot apple cider cooking on our stove. I love that you get to see neighbors you never see the rest of the year. I love the Garfield and Charlie Brown Halloween specials from the eighties. I love having my birthday on Halloween to boot.
And what are we Wilsons going to be this year?? Two years ago we were nerds and Malan was baby Elvis.

We really enjoyed our rendition of Homestarrunner and Strongbad the Halloween before we got married. This year I'm stumped. Some possibilities include: Moses and a golden calf, Superman and Wonder Woman, Bill and Hillary, and Siamese twins. Send in your suggestions!

Wow! You make Halloween sound so fantastic, I think there must have been something in the water in the valley around Halloween. Heather is just as crazy about the holiday as anyone I've ever met. I have never really loved it, but I'm enjoying it more as a mom. My kids are stoked for their costumes. Its fun to get them all dressed up and show them off. I love it when people praise my kids (I'm so shallow!) I think if you went as Dwight and Angela I would cry!
Sounds like you don't need any help from a non-creative person with all those great ideas! If you narrow it down I'll put my two cents in for a vote. How fun to have your birthday on Halloween?! Kim Woodbury is all about "holliday" birthdays. You should ask her about it!
hey my friend. mmmmm. my sister and i were trying to think up fun things for her halloween dance...some of the ideas were:
-a shady lawyer and a crash accident victim
-milk and cookie
-thing 1 and thing 2 (from dr. seuss)
-mr and mrs potato head
those are the only ones i can remember. however, i really do like the idea of angela and dwight... i think caleb would be a fabulous dwight. :)
p.s. happy birthday!
My vote is also for Angela and Dwight...I LOVE them! That would be hilarious! I'm glad someone else enjoys that humor. :) Kate, I never knew your b-day was Halloween! How fun. No wonder why you like the holiday so much! Happy early birthday!
I love the pictures. Sean was almost a Halloween baby, but I did my best to hold off until November 1st, because with a last name of Holliday I didn't want a baby to be born on Halloween. Den has a first cousin whose name is Christmas Holliday. So when I started into labor on Halloween everyone said we should name him Halloween Holliday. That was not going to happen so I promised the Lord some things in return for His help in Sean not being born until November 1st right after midnignt.
We're not big fans of the Dwight and Angela costumes...maybe because we live 2 hours away from Scranton and all of our friends are taking a road trip to see it tomorrow...we're boycotting it though.
You might make some people hate you if you did Bill and Hillary (like my parents)...that might be funny--you'd be well accepted where we are though.
Darrell loves the idea of Moses and the golden calf
1. dwight and angela
2. moses and the golden calf
you've got some great ideas friend. please photo document the holiday accordingly.
