So here's what we were up to the week before we moved:
We decided to remodel the old upstairs bathroom which still had its lovely original yellow cobblestone linoleum. If you were an interior designer in the 70's-I hate you.
Chiseling off the old stained, cracked shower tile (which ended up being pointless since Caleb had to yank the cement out later anyway since it was cracked).
Tiling the floor
Wendy helped me paint the cabinets, tile, and do trim.
Ah, a finished floor and a fixed toilet
New shower
What were the kiddos doing this week? Wearin jammies, watchin movies and eating popcorn. And being adopted by my sisters.
Goodbye old house. It's been real.
All finished. It's 4:30 in the morning, I haven't been to bed in a couple of days, and I'm off to the airport with the girls.
Lucky for me, look what my angels were up to almost the whole flight:
My favorite flight attendant comment this trip: as I'm carrying two car seats, three bags, double fisting Jane's shoes which she refused to wear, and shooing my girl's down the 6 inch wide aisle at six a.m., the helpful woman gave me her "another clueless passenger" look and said, "She really needs her shoes on, it's a safety issue." Thanks smart lady. But we made it. And we are really loving it here. We've converted the sandbox into a pool for the rest of the summer, our house is lovely, our stuff almost fits, and life is good.

Thank you all so much for your help taking over my girls and helping me get this crazy project done. Caleb, 'nuf said. Wendy and Edith were unstoppable. Thank you! Brandon and Talicia gave us some great furniture. The Wilsons, Willises and Songers packed our house and the Mckays, Pulsiphers, Songers and Malmborgs loaded it into our moving truck and helped us clean. Caleb's brother Brandon drove back with him. People kept stuffing our wallet, too. Thanks Fraziers, Songers, and Mckays for feeding us since our kitchen was packed. Leo, take it easy on the frosted minis. One Heimlich manuever is enough for anyone, and next time you need a hug, just ask. Thanks friends for all the great farewell get togethers. Thanks Victoria for the wee hours shuttle to the airport and the goodies for the girls. And whoever sent us season 3 of corner gas to watch tonight, you totally rock! Our family and friends are unbeatable. We love you all!!!

WOW - I can't believe how much stuff you got done before you left! You are your parent's golden child for sure. So, we (sarah, clint, joey and i) called you a couple nights ago and left a message but then your voice mail said in a pleasant voice "message canceled". so maybe you didn't get it? But we sure love you and we were thinking about you guys and hoping all was well with you. Can't wait to come visit you and we'll give you a call soon to hear all about your new pad and friends and such. Love you.
Holy cow!
Oh the things to look forward to. Note to self: Make the small child wear non-removeable shoes for long flights! Good luck to you guys!
what a helpful flight attendant. i love it when they anticipate your needs like that. thanks captain obvious! it's a courtesy issue. glad you made it! sneak a nap in when you can, sheesh.
I love your backyard! Also, your bathroom remodel is amazing. We really miss you guys.
Oh, my goodness, I am speachless.
Looks simply wonderful, but even more so is the creativity, the work, the helpers...
You remodeled your bathroom YOURSELF? I am so impressed. I might have to call you for tips when we move in to a grody old NY city apartment.
Great photo essay, and amazing job on the bathroom. Could you send your Pitt address to me (or to the kinderfarm group)? Thanks. Love you, Jenny
the bathroom looks great, i still think you're slightly insane doing that RIGHT before you move. but, you're wonder woman, so I am not at all surprised you pulled it off.
i feel bad i wasn't able to get up to your place that week before you left. but, we're totally planning on moving to east coast so next thanksgiving should rock. ;)
hope you guys get settled in. can't wait to hear more about your life in PA!
The photos really don't do that lovely green bathtub justice :) but the bathroom did turn out awesome!
I was so glad to see the pic of the girls SLEEPING on the plane-what a relief for you.
I can't wait to visit, although I don't know when that will happen but I miss you guys already. I hope Caleb has/had a good first day doing school things (I think that's today, right?).
Love you crazies!
That bathroom turned out fabulous! You are such a handy girl. I am sorry you got a booboo, way to take one for the team. I am glad you are loving your new home, don't stay away too long.
