The nights have gotten downright cold and a few early leaves are turning, but we're hanging on to the last of the Pittsburgh sun with both fists. Here's a bit of our day at Idlewild, a little old-fashioned amusement park buried in the forest of Western Pennsylvania.

This one of Jane really gets to me because I took it right after she threw an absolute fit and we had a knock down, drag out fight about it. Those are my saddest moments as a mom. I really struggled to enjoy the rest of the day because I just felt so awful. Ever been there? We soon made up and Jane went to pick me this flower. But she carries so much emotion in her eyes and I can see her little heart still hurting. Ouch.
The merry-go. Still magical. I think they just make you feel like you're going to get carried off Mary Poppins-style into another world. The music and lights and colors are just kind of surreal, especially at night.
A bit more end-of summer stuff is coming, including the last of the ranch pics. Hope you are enjoying the few remaining sunny days before fall.

wow - i've said it before and i'm not afraid to say it again (i'm so nerdy) but your pictures are magical!!! sorry about your fight with jane. i know EXACTLY what you mean. but you can't avoid those moments. and if you do - it probably means you are just wimping out. sometimes i'm tempted to be a wimp cause those fights are hard. fun park though. i think our local fair opens tomorrow. we shall go and find a swirly merry-go-round too.

It's hard to see the warm days leave, but I am so excited to see your fall and winter pics! You have such a knack of capturing those fleeting moments perfectly, what a lovely collection of treasures!
