Merry Christmas, From Jane's Friend

A conversation I overheard between Jane and her father today, about Jane's latest paper creation:

Caleb: Who’s that?

Jane: That’s Jesus.

Caleb: Oh, what is he doing?

Jane: He’s sticking on our wall.

Caleb: What else?

Jane: He’s saying to me.

Caleb: What’s he saying?

Jane: He’s saying “Merry Christmas."

Caleb: He’s got a nice beard, Jane. And nice fuzzy ears.

Jane: NOT fuzzy eeeeears! That’s he’s hair.

Caleb: Oh, my bad.

Jane: NOT your DA-ad! That’s JESUS!

Caleb: Oh.

I must say I feel a little sheepish having a paper Jesus glued (yes, glued, thank you Jane) to my wall. But several times today I have caught Jane hugging and patting and putting her wee soft cheek next to Jesus' cheek. I see that as a good thing.

ha ha ha. I love conversations with Janie! She is truly her own woman and I think every family needs a Janie. I got mine in the form of a Jakie, but the fire is there none the less. Love your kids Kate! Thanks for letting ours play with yours. I think Malan will rub off on them both and hopefully mellow mine out:)

I'm sure the Savior is delighted to know he's loved so much by your little girl. It's not weird at all; it's pure, innocent admiration and love.

Did Jane do all the scissor work on that creation? If so, bravo.

I love it! I bet He's laughing and loving it!

That Jane is thorough. He's even cut out of paper with religious text on it!

I love that! And she did such a good job making him, too. Funny, cute conversation.

I thought they were fuzzy ears too. I'm glad she explained that.
I'm thinking you're a great mom to let Jane glue Jesus to your wall--it's the perfect Christmas decoration.
