Olivia's self-preservation instinct has kicked in. Now when she decides to throw a holy fit, instead of hurling herself to the floor in despair and banging her head vehemently into the hardwood, she hurls herself to the floor in despair, pauses, scoots herself to the nearest patch of carpeting, and then proceeds to bang her head, rather gently.
Jane's attention to detail instinct has, apparently, not yet kicked in. Yesterday she composed this note to our friend Mandee, for her birthday:
"Dear Mandee, I really like the stuff about you. Love, Jane."
Caleb is thoroughly enjoying his neurology rotation. Oh how I wish I had time to go into great detail about the guy who passed out in the casino after 3 days of no sleep and only coffee for sustenance and thought he must be narcoleptic. Or the guy whose girlfriend brought him in because she's worried that sometimes he falls asleep when he's lying down and she has to call his name 2 or 3 times before he wakes up. And sometimes when he's watching sports he seems to stare at the t.v. for long periods of time and she has to try multiple times to get his attention.
Psychiatry is up next. . .I can hardly contain my excitement.

Don't even think about touching the shimmer puff. I witnessed Jane learn that one the hard way.
I love this post. My reactions:
1. so glad you documented the contents of the treasure box--it's like a time capsule
2. That story about Olivia is hilarious. She wants to throw a fit, but does it so responsibly.
3. Jane likes "the stuff". I'm sure that will mean a lot to Mandee as soon as she figures out what it means.
4. I've heard of people falling asleep when lying down. It's serious stuff.
Oh how I don't understand the treasure box stuff. My boys are like Jane...all about stuff. No detail. Your updates are delightful!
i love kiddie stashes. jaylee was fixated on the shimmer puff after we came last april. :) love your girlies.
Your pictures are so pretty, they make everything look like treasure.
Anika began throwing careful tantrums after knocking herself silly on the arm of a church pew. She took such a long breath from the shock of it that I got her out of the chapel before she started screaming.
Hearing Jon's stories from his early doctor days was the first time I realized there were people in the world who were unintelligent. I can't wait to hear more stories.
So sweet and so funny! Mike and I re-watched the video Caleb sent out. Reminds me of an old boss of mine. I hope that girlfriend finds a satisfactory answer to her boyfriends "condition." ha, ha. I can't wait for the psychiatry posts!
what a fun box of treasure for those sweet girlies of yours! and HAHA too funny for caleb, how often does he have to hold back laughing right on the spot for some of these crazy things :o
Ah, I love it. Madi's would be similar. Little girls are just the best. Glad the tantrums are more self preserving, that's always good.
If sitting in front of the TV and staring at sports for long periods of time requires medical attention- I better be calling 911...
I love the girls treasure box- When I went through the boys' treasures- I had to be really careful--some of the stuff was still alive.
Another post!!!
I still have a treasure box. 2, actually. I should take note of whats in there.... and share it. What good is it if I don't open it from time to time and enjoy it!?
Your husband has worked so hard! Just the tiny peek into his day made for a giggle. People are nuts. The End.
R~
Your girls throw tantrums? Whaaa?
I am so glad you documented the treasure box. That's so special! I hope I can remember to do those kinds of things for Aspen.
Scott's had all those symptoms of exhaustion in his 3rd year. I hope you guys are having better luck. Glad you're having some nice breather months. Your girils are hilarious and genuine. Love the stories
Thanks for the laugh about Olivia. Your attention to detail is marvelous, even in Jane's is a bit delayed.
