Tender Hearts

Like me, you may have had a good cry over Japan in the last week.

My girls and I have talked a lot about it. They've asked about the children and where they sleep at night and how people are getting the food they need. They've started rounding up some of their toys and dolls they want to send to them. It's done my aching heart good to see their tender little hearts at work.
I tell you what, I'll be holding these little ones a little closer.

I absolutely love the sister picture. I cant believe how much they look alike. My girls could be strangers, they look nothing alike.

Cute, cute, cute, cute! I'm not sure my younger kids are even aware of Japan. My fault.
I love that last picture of all four of your girls. Is Jane the only one without brown eyes?

I'm with Lori - still can't believe you have four girls! And what sweet girls they are - I can totally picture them picking out toys to send to Japan.

It is hard for me to think about Japan. As much as I've seen the videos and my heart aches, it is so hard to think it is real.
Yes, I look at my children and hurt for all the families over there. So sad.
What else is there to do than to count our blessings?

it melts my heart that your babes care so much about others. you are right; what a lesson of love. so they're charitable AND they're gorgeous. i don't think it gets much better than that, really.

p.s. thanks for your votes in the contest! you guys are so great.

Kate! Somehow I missed the arrival of darling Emme (I've barely read blogs in the last year-plus - catching up finally). Your girls are GORGEOUS!!! Jane looks so, so much like you. :)

It's made me heartsick. A heartsick I havent been since Haiti, Katrina and 9/11. I can't grasp what it is like to lose everything material, electricity, food, water... and my loved ones. I've had tears over and over this week.
Thank you for mentioning it on your blog. I have also been surprised at how not a single friend I have on social network sites have mentioned it. I know we are distanced from it, but still... your post means a lot.

Hello darling girls! 4. Four! F. O. U. R! They are each just absolutely beautiful. Inside and out!

Chad and I were enroute to the airport when we heard about it on the news. When we arrived in Vegas, we sat glued to the tv in budget rental long after our car keys were handed over. It is so unbelievably tragic and can happen anywhere in a blink of an eye. We are so lucky to know what we know so we understand the fleeting nature of this life. Hold on tight to the littles, but come what may, know they are yours now and forever.

Thanks so much for the info on the "kistletoe ball." You are awesome!
Your girls are adorable. I don't know how you do it! I have three and we are in the final few months of residency and it's been a rough road. You make it look easy! What is your hubby hoping to do?
We've had the same discussions with some tears by all here too.

Clint says, "Wow, they've got a lot of weddings to pay for." You have four girls we have four boys--I wonder who has more drama.
