As autumn descends, I contemplate my last few weeks in this, the Autumn of my twenties.
I've studied and traveled, married and multiplied.
and now, it seems, I enter. . .
My wreath making years.
Call me Donna Reed, I've been domesticated.
If you find yourself likewise, perhaps you'll enjoy our Autumnal domestic tidbits:

Autumn blooms:
(I stole them from the side of the road. I don't even know if that's legal. I was just waiting for someone to jump out of their car and shout "Hey! Wildflowers are for everyone to enjoy, you selfish, selfish nature thief."
If it was wrong, I got my punishment in the form of the worst allergy attack of my life. I could hardly see out of my oozing eyes well enough to drive home and my dash and windshield now have a fine coating of what used to be on the inside of my nose.
The flowers and I have since made peace.)
My take on squash: (See it, don't eat it.)
Leftover burlap. . .
And alas, I believe I am also entering the Autumn of the adequate metabolism. So you betcha I'll be making every calorie count.

Apple cider floats:
I used this recipe and was not disappointed one little bit.
Truth be told, something about this time of year really does wake me up and make me want to

Trite, but true.
I love you, autumn. Welcome, welcome.

NummNumm. Your Mum.
Oh I miss Autumn. One day we'll live in a place where I can enjoy the bliss that it is. Thanks for sharing a piece of yours. Maybe I'll try to bring some of that goodness in to my house inthe coming weeks.
I admire your jump-into-autumness. I'm in denial that summer is gone and am resisting the coming seasons. I'll try not to be such a curmudgeon. Maybe I'll try your cider. Jack's been begging for some.
I like your wreath better than the original, Kate.
Autumn is my favorite season! Last night Virginia Pierce came to speak and quoted George Eliot--"Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns."
Spot on.
It all looks so delicious on your blog.
Oh, Ms. Kate. You make my heart leap. I feel the same way about this. I also feel so happy that recently shopped for a new iron and was excited about it. I love that baking and making our house comfortable are my greatest joys. This phase of life is bliss.
Your home looks like a very happy place to be. You truly inspire me. I wont be decorating for Fall until after the honeymoon, but oh, you've given me so many ideas.
Tonight I'm off to buy a few new placemats and my favorite market has Dollar Flower Day Thursdays! Joy.
Thank you for all of your !!!'s on my blog lately. You're loved!

Wow..heavenly. I love autumn. love this post and all your pretty things
This might be the pregnancy talking but APPLE CIDER FLOATS? YES, please :) I was telling Greg earlier this week that I was craving cider actually. Fall is the best!
Hi!!!! I used the android app called Retro Cam; on the setting The Barbl. It comes with about 5 differnt types of 'cameras' in it like the polorid. Etc! So great for instant nostalgia! Love!
Oh my gosh! What a genius idea! Jeff and I have both pretty much given up rootbeer floats (he doesn't like rootbeer and I don't like carbonation). That's such a blissfully happy, warm, delicious solution to our problem. Must try now.
You're the best photographer Kate - just set a timer and take your own family pics
one day i'll be as awesome as you. that is all.
Your wreath is lovely. I love autmn too, until it gats too cold, the I start longing for spring again.
I second Lori's true (and hilarious "That is all") comment. Very lovely. I think I can work on dolling up my house more, soon. I've been cleaning up my I've-been-away-from-home mess. I can't stand that those dishes I left in the sink were still there when I got back! The nerve. The leaves are changing, and falling. And don't you want to come live here someday? There were two young deer nibbling the tall grass in my front yard. Autumn really does win the best season award. Apple cider floats? I'll have to try that. Maybe a dried pear ring would look nice on the rim? 'Cuz I have a lot of those.
