Malan headed off to first grade earlier this week. Holy heck, hasn't she grown up over the summer?
Oh I love that girl.
At the bus stop on Jane's big day, Malan was the perfect helpful big sister...
...while Jane ran up to a fellow kindergartner and said/shouted,"Hey, you want to be my friend?" I think she's going to be just fine. Have fun little sweetie, the world is yours for the taking.

But man, it's a real kick in the gut sending them off all day.
Looking forward to the long weekend with them all to myself.
Come home soon, ladies. I'll be waiting for my hugs and kisses.

If they are like you they will make friends with everyone and do everything well at school. It is hard enough sending my little Anna off to preschool 2 hours 2 days a week, I can't imagine having her gone more. Cuddle those little ones, I know I will since my baby will be 1 next month. Time flies by way too fast!
I'm so glad they have each other out there! Such milestone events. The look so darling and Malan is so grown up and mature. It's hard to let them go and grow. It all goes so fast. Love those little cuties! We can't wait to see you all again. It was WAY to short and fast. Loves and cuddles!
Full-day kindergarten would be a sudden shock. But exciting, too.
I wish Malan were here to do first grade with Meredith.
Rosalie has been planning elaborate tea parties for her friends "Malan, Jane, and Isabelle." She cannot accept that it may be a couple of years before they can attend. She wants to leave the table set until then.
Your girls are darling, Kate. Does it make you feel grown-up that half your kids are in school? Chris and I went to Elliot's pre-k orientation (he's doing public, full-day pre-k starting next week -- so nervous!) and we walked out and Chris was like, "wow -- that made me feel like an adult."
Oh, they're so cute. I love Jane loudly asking people to be her friend. She's gonna get some, for sure. Good for Malan being such a good older sister. Full-day Kindergarten would be hard when you first have to let them go. They're just wee babes! Miss you guys.
Your girls are ADORABLE! I know how hard it is to send them off. My Kade is gone all day now too in 1st grade. It's a big change! Sure hope things are going well for you though :)
The girls are so beautiful! My heart is hurting this week over pre-school starting 3x a week on Wed. I wanted to keep him home again, but ultimately decided that he needed to have more time to play with other kids. His little brother has been late coming. I hope the girls have a great time!
They are so sweet! I just realized I haven't posted about my guys' first day... I never remember that Jane and Levi are the same age. And Malan and Jonas? I never even realized. We should get our kids together one day when the stars align and we're in UT at the same time. :)
Sweet Jane starting kindergarten is a real shock to the system. Stop growing you!
Bless them. They look lovely.
You do such great, crafty projects! You dress your girls in the cutest of clothes and your awaiting hugs and kisses made me teary today. I love your Mothers love.
