One of the best things about Memphis has been the awesome group of women I've been getting to know, most of whom I met through church. These ladies are so put together! At first I felt a bit intimidated, but they are also remarkably nice and down to earth, so I got over that.
One of these women organizes our book club, another created a monthly children's book club which we take turns hosting.
There is a summer children's seminar led by another mom, and Friday field trips planned by another.
My friend Lindsay recently organized stART (story + ART) where we meet monthly with the kids and read an art based children's book and then let them do very self-guided and exploratory art experiments. It is awesome.

Here are a few pictures from this month's stART, which included the book "I ain't gonna paint no more" and then involved painting outlines of their bodies on paper, salad spinner painting, and painting their actual bodies with colored shaving cream (in their old yucky swimsuits). Thank you Lindsay, I am so excited about this!
