Caleb, Malan, Jane, Olivia and I got to try out the Torrey disc golf course for the first time this year, and it was so cool. Instead of dodging trees like we have to do in Tennessee, we had to throw the disc around sandstone towers or up over buttes or through rock canyons. The desert is so beautiful! And beautiful in such a different way. We loved it! Our team (Caleb, Clint, Sarah and I) came in second place after we gave Brigham to another team to help them out.
Sarah looks so calm as she nails her first throw. Clint backhands his drives, and they go for miles! Seriously neat to watch!
Here is the dirty disc golf crew after our round of 18 holes. Our girls loved exploring with their older cousins while we played.
A few desert blooms. It's always surprising to find such a variety of living things in a place with so little water. Life will find a way.
Poor Caleb's tibia popped out of his knee joint (doesn't that sound just awful...) while playing volleyball. Luckily it didn't break the skin and it popped itself back in to place while we were lugging him up the stairs. He had to spend the next day recovering and didn't get to come on our awesome hike. Next time! He will love it, because it was awesome. There is a dirt road quite close to the ranch that leads into a quick one mile hike to a little river and waterfall in some narrows. Very cool!

Two buds in a peep hole.
The very fun and handsome Tal. He kept trying to photobomb my pictures of everyone, but I caught one of him looking like his groovy self.

Chad, pondering the awesomeness of nature, and Katie and Ethan in the narrows.
Mike helps Chloe climb up and Malan watches her step.
Those awesome boys can always be counted on to haul little kids out of hikes when the going gets tough. Such super studs!
We missed Caleb, but still had such a great time. I love getting my girls out into the beautiful world! Thank you, Ranch, for a wonderful trip. We love you!

Haha!! I love that picture of your little weirdo! Oh man oh man. These are really great pictures Kate. And how neat to have such a cool disc golf group photo. Those are hard to come by but it's so great to see everyone. Those hike pictures are amazing with the suspended drops of splashes. Loved it so much. I NEED TO BLOG!
