Happy Holidays from the Wilsons
Merry Christmas dear family and friends! We hope this has been a memorable and wonderful year for all of you. We’ve been busy and happy living and playing in beautiful Huntsville, Utah. Here’s what we’ve been up to this year . . . (Caleb’s comments in parentheses)
Caleb: spent the winter studying for the MCAT and finishing his last semester of college. After taking the awful test in April, he celebrated by taking me to San Francisco. We loved seeing the city with our street car pass, cruising around in the bay, and eating at the wharf. We missed our girls like crazy but we totally recommend getting away if you can (NOW, go NOW!) Caleb is working as the finance guy for an Ogden based archeological consulting firm (tree huggers.) As much as he loves crunching the numbers (playing sudoku online), he is so anxious to start medical school next fall and we are happy and relieved to have been accepted to a couple of great schools. So, we’ll be moving somewhere next July, and we’re both really excited. Caleb still loves playing volleyball whenever he gets the chance (it was fun both times this year) and this fall he led (limped) our co-ed soccer team to another 3rd or 4th place finish. Dang. (Some day Kate will get her Clearfield Rec League Championship hoodie.) He finished his stint with the EQ and now teaches Gospel Principles each Sunday. The girls wish he were a stay-at-home dad and that mom would go to work-he is so much more fun (I feed them marshmallows.) He wants a grill for Christmas. (Christmas 2016.)
Kate: (cries herself to sleep about not getting a Clearfield Rec League Championship hoodie.) loves, loves, loves! being home with my two main babes. They are so stinking (literally) cute and fun. I have been trying to keep my brain alive (eat more marshmallows) this year and have taken on a few (cough) fun projects. I’ve been making and altering prom dresses and costumes, learning to make wedding cakes, getting into digital photo book making, and refinishing any old things I can find (I‘m a project widower.) It’s been great to learn new things and try to be creative. My next dream is to someday get a nice camera and figure out how to take beautiful pictures (Christmas 2017). I’m the Mia Maid adviser in our ward and I just adore those girls! It’s such a “figure things out” time of life for them and I love being a part of that (I don‘t.) Caleb and I finally got some good running shoes and we have really begun to love running together with the best item we own: the double jogging stroller! I’m so grateful for an amazing husband who clears the dishwasher (gotta eat) cleans the toilet (is that a hint?) and lets me sleep in (sleeping’s free and I’m cheap.) I love the Gospel and the peace and happiness it brings to our family.
Malan: just turned three and changes her outfit (mood) five to ten times a day (no actual clothes involved.) Some favorite looks include the Tiger, the Pony, Sarafina the Cat, Aurora, Belle, Cinderella, the Turtle (brown towel,) and the Mother (wearing only underwear and a pink cape, my hero.) Malan enjoys: singing, painting, dancing, crafts (“craps.” Malan’s words, not mine,) playing mermaid in the tub, and inviting over any and every friend or cousin possible. She is very sweet, obedient, and hilarious (it’s genetic) and we love her dearly.
Jane: is one and a half and (very crazy) so cute! Jane enjoys: Malan, Jane’s blankie, Malan’s blankie, making sure Jane has Jane’s blankie, and making sure Malan has Malan’s blankie. She spends many hours a day on these important things. Jane makes our life better by eating well, sleeping well, playing well, and giving world-class snuggles (so do I, but I still get in trouble when I eat things off the floor).
We love this time of year because we feel even more grateful for the Savior and all we have been blessed with (someday a grill). We count each of you as blessings in our lives and hope you are happy and well (if you’re not well, please add me as a beneficiary). Love, Caleb (he-man), Kate (main babe), Malan (squishy) and Jane (bop-bop) Wilson
