And were we ever over due! We'd had a two month fast from a night away from home, just us. Thank you Marissa, we will be calling you again soon.
Next it was a quick stop at a little Greek dive to grab gyros. Or rather, since they only took cash, one gyro and a water, which we shared sitting on a bench overlooking the river.
Then it was off to the theater! We heard "Wicked" was great and of course couldn't afford to buy tickets at the regular price, but Caleb managed to get his name drawn out of the "Wicked lottery." So we nabbed two front row center seats for 25 bucks. The show was fabulous. Highlight: watching the orchestra conductor mouth every word in the entire show, head bobbing, grinning broadly and thoroughly enjoying himself.
So what did we do on our first date in the new city? Well, I settled the girls with the sitter then hopped the train in to meet Caleb. After a short and lovely twilight ride the train approached the platform and there he stood, all dapper with one hand in his pocket. How romantic.

Then a quick dash to catch the last train after the show (a'cursing my high heels) and a companionable train ride home to our wee ones, fast asleep in their little beds. What a nice evening. Hope you're having one too.

LOVE Wicked! That was our first date after Elisa was born...it was a bit of a disaster for the babysitter, but it was fabulous for us!
Glad you guys were able to find a sitter!! That's one thing we haven't been able to get a hold of since moving back to Utah (odd, since the states sworming with young women). What a great way to celebrate date night!!
Just perusing old posts of yours, I'm feeling nostalgic and journally today. You too are so adorable together. Did I call it, or did I call it?! Love you! And miss you.
