We shared a lovely Thanksgiving with my brother Mike and his family in Virginia. Every time we visit Virginia I'm a little more inclined to move there as soon as possible.
I have much to be thankful for.
At the moment, I'm thankful Emme decided to learn how to get herself up
(and down) the stairs this weekend.

(giant cat!)
(regular sized cat)
We have a tried and true method for helping our kinder learn this important life skill:
we accidentally let them tumble down the stairs shortly after they learn to crawl.
This provides both a lesson in depth perception and a healthy fear of stairways.
(Never had a repeat offender.)
Within a couple of months they're ready to give them a go again with a new determination to
not get injured this time.
Judge away but it works like a charm (unintentionally) every time,
as long as you can handle a little well-earned parental guilt. Which I can.
Hope your Thanksgiving was groovy. (good + gravy)

I heart those heart pj's! I love the morning sunshine in the pictures. I love your parenting- the end!!!!
A tumble down my Mothers stair case at the age of 4 taught me a than'g or two 'bout life.
I hear Virgina is lovely!
Happy Holidays, dear friend.
R~
I loved the sunlight in the pictures too. And I'm with you on the parenting thang. Although I always have repeat offenders. Hard-headed Vauses. Happy holidays to you and yours!
Those lucky Hales get to live the closest to you guys. We are really looking forward to seeing you at Christmas. It looks like Emme has become Olivia. They've both grown up away from our watching eyes.
Oh, I love that little Emme! I want to squeeze and squeeze her. That is, indeed, a great day when they master the stairs. Groovy - I'm never going to pronounce that correctly again. ha, ha! Can't wait to see you!!!
ha. i knew we were friends for a reason.
Ha! Too bad we don't have any stairs to let Harper fall down. I would consider it.
That was such a funny picture of Emme's teeth that you sent us. I love your posts.
You go, mama! I am supportive of parenting with natural consequences.
Do you have a cat? We're excited to see you for Christmas too!
love her little head popping up the stairs ~ fabulous!
Happy Thanksgiving.
My stairs are a bit to steep to let my kids tumble down, I will stick to my nans method which was to teach them to crawl down them backwards. Not had any falls yet... touch wood.
Whoa. AT first when I looked at the first picture I thought there was a giant cat in the background instead of it being in front. Scarred for life man.
