Malan's 8th

Malan turned 8 last week. My heart feels weird when I think about it.
She received some balloon letter deliveries on her birthday morning (one from Grandma Hale about her baptism day, one from Caleb and me, and a few others). Then her choice of breakfast in bed: sugar cereal and strudel and fresh raspberries.

Malan spent the rest of the day orchestrating an amazing Harry Potter party for the family complete with wand selecting, sorting hat, broom constructing and racing, and (huzzah!)Caleb made it home just in time for potion making and cake. It was so creative and fun and she did it almost completely by herself. Quite a special girl. Quite a special day.

Happy Birthday, sweet Malan.
Blasts from birthdays passed here, here, here, and  here.

I love everything about this! Malan is simply the sweetest. Joey is such a good sport with the sorting hat :) I'm not sure if It's Emme or Lucy with the pj/rainboot combo but it is awesome.

Best birthday party ever. And totally original. I loved getting my own wand from oliveanders, being sorted, the snitch cake, the broomstick race and making all the yummy potions. Malan is definitely a Kate jr. I love that your kids are happy and grateful on their birthdays. it is so fun to be a part of it.

Oh, she's so special, and so sweet, and so creative!

Happy 8th Birthday to you, Malan! I hope it was as good for you as it looks like it was in these pictures! It looks like it was an awesome time!

By the way, I love all the pictures in this post; all the fun & togetherness shown is just awesome.

But I love these three the most: The girls all sitting in Malan's bed together, Jane flying around the corner on her broomstick, and the bottom left one of Malan with her cake - such a precious, smiling face!

Oh, and I love the letter-by-balloon delivery idea!

And her dancing on her bed in the top pictures...

Every time I look at them again, I find more things to like! Once again, it looks like it was a great day for a great girl!

My favorite was the broom race. The potions class was a close second. Great job Malan.
