Emme's Fifth

Our Emmiest Emme (Emmeboo, Booboo, Emmebooboopants) turned five yesterday.
We all crowded around, as usual, as she ate her breakfast in bed and opened presents from the grandmas.
She lucked out and even had her favorite Dad around to celebrate the morning with her.
After trying out her new stuff. . .
(and after we cleaned the messy chalkboard for more pictures). . .Emme hopped back in bed to finish her sugar cereal, toaster strudel, and berries. (And gave herself bunny ears. Why not?)
Later that night, it was time to party:
That's right: a Panda, Penguin, Pizza, Pajama (and Brussels sprouts) party. Emme loves her some brussel sprouts, even though they're not black and white and they don't start with "P."

The Hales and Amanda and Josh joined us for some panda balloon popping and penguin waddle races. Terribly blurry pictures, I'm afraid.
Then on to the panda and penguin cupcakes (I tried hard. They are pretty ugly.)
Emme requested a giant panda mini cake for her wish-making and blew out all her candles like a champ.
Then on to presents and the sleepover (the only picture I have is from the morning after...but they pajama-partied hard, as you can see.)
After the cousins left, Emme got happily to work on her new art project.
Oh how we love our Emme! She is so tender-hearted and easy to please. She's learning and growing so much this year and it's wonderful to see her talents growing and watch her little personality settle in. Happy Birthday little deary.
